NEELANJANA BANERJEE’s creative work has appeared in the PANK Magazine, The Literary Review, World Literature Today, Asian Pacific American Journal, Nimrod, A Room of One’s Own, Desilit, the anthology, Desilicious and is forthcoming in The HarperCollins Book of English Poetry (HarperCollins India, 2011) and Breaking the Bow: Speculative Stories Inspired by the Ramayana (Zubaan Books, 2011). She is a co-editor of Indivisible: An Anthology of Contemporary South Asian American Poetry (University of Arkansas Press, 2010). In 2007, she received an MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. She has taught writing and media skills to youth through the San Francisco WritersCorps and YO! Youth Outlook Multimedia. Banerjee has worked in mainstream, ethnic and independent media for the past ten years. She was an editor and blogger with the Asian American magazine Hyphen, where she oversaw the semi-annual Short Story contest. Her journalism has appeared in Alternet, Colorlines, Fiction Writers Review, HTML Giant, Kitchen Sink, and more. She is currently based in Los Angeles.
